Dutch footballer Rafael van der Vaart believes that Tottenham will quickly recover from their chastening 5-2 loss against Arsenal and still end the season as London’s leading club.
Playmaker van der Vaart said history reveals that Tottenham have not finished above Arsenal since 1995, but still retains a seven-point advantage over their north London neighbours with only 12 games of the season remaining.
“Man City are winning the games so easily, especially now after we lost, so maybe the title is over,” said Van der Vaart.
He added: “With it being Arsenal it always hurts, but we are still third, seven points ahead so we are not worried. I’m still really confident we will finish in third.”
