Venus Williams was bundled out of the Australian Open on Wednesday, beaten 2-6 7-6 7-5 by Li Na, who joins fellow Chinese Zheng Jie in the semi-finals.

Her win gave China two players in the semi-finals of a grand slam for the first time.

Sixteenth seed Li will meet either Serena Williams or Victoria Azarenka for a place in the Melbourne final.
