After all the bad blood which flowed between Indian and Australian players in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where friendships between the cricketers went for a toss, the fans got to witness something special just one day before the start of the tenth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).
All the skippers of the eight IPL franchises got together for the captains' meet in Hyderabad on Tuesday and they had a fun-filled shoot. Rivalries were forgotten for the time being and Virat Kohli, who had earlier said that his relation with some of the Aussies aren't the same anymore, was seen goofing around with all his counterparts.
He tweeted this picture with a caption which reads, "The spirit of Cricket Selfie. Let the best league in the world commence. #IPL10 #SpiritOfCricket."
The captains discussed different aspects of the game and the tournament. IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla joined everyone over teleconference and addressed certain issues and doubts if there were any during the course of the meeting. Later the leaders pledged their allegiance to the Marylebone Cricket Club's (MCC) Spirit of Cricket campaign by signing the spirit of cricket bat.
Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabd (SRH) will face last year's runners up Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first match of season 10 in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
