Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli was overwhelmed to receive the Padma Shri award which was presented to him by President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony in the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.
The talismanic leader posted a video of the ceremony and wrote an emotional message which reads, "What an absolute honor and a memorable day to receive the Padma Shri award from the President of India. These days last a lifetime. God's been kind. Jai Hind"

Besides Kohli, seven other sportspersons were awarded Padma Shri are Rio Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik, Paralympians Mariyappan Thangavelu and Deepa Malik, gymnast Dipa Karmakar, Indian hockey captain PR Sreejesh, discus thrower Vikas Gowda and blind cricket team captain Shekar Naik.
