Wayne Rooney has cheered up Sir Alex Ferguson’s grandson in hospital, where he is recovering from a horrific car smash.
Charlie, ten, is being treated for head injuries, a punctured lung and fractured spine.
The Sun quoted Charlie’s mother, Nadine Ferguson, 30, who broke both legs in the crash, as saying that he (Charlie) got a “real boost” after meeting his favourite Manchester United player at Alder Hey Kids’ Hospital in Liverpool.
Nadine said: “When I’m well, I plan to start a campaign to encourage all parents to be vigilant. I’m confident I will have Sir Alex’s support.”
