All-rounder Tim Bresnan says India being the World champions may be the favourites to win the ODI series but that won't stop England from going all out to inflict another whitewash defeat.

England won the Test series 4-0 and are now eying a historic treble over India by blanking them in T20 and ODIs.

With India's top five players out of the series due to the injury and others struggling to cope with the English conditions, Bresnan very much sees it coming.

"India might be favourites because they won the World Cup only a few months ago," Bresnan was quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

"But we’re quite difficult to beat at home in one-day cricket as we showed against Sri Lanka.

“I wouldn’t say any team can feel too confident against us in one-day cricket. We’re improving all the time and each series is a chance for us to keep doing so.

"If we hit our straps against India we should get the result we’re after. We hit them hard in the Test matches and we’ll be looking to do the same in the one-dayers.

"India are a top side and we have to respect them in all forms, especially the shorter ones. But we’re out to win every game, that’s our mentality.”

India plays the one-off Twenty20 against England Wednesday at Manchester followed by the ODI series which begins Sep 3 at Chester-le-Street.
