One of the big names who could be dropped is Harbhajan Singh. It is understood that Mumbai Indians want to leave him out of the squad. Though the information could not be confimed with MI officials, it is understood that Harbhajan has been talked to by the MI officials who have apparently promised to buy him back in the auction.

The reason was that the pay bill for the MI is running in excess of $ 12 million as they had purchased some players through the transfer window last year.

Harbhajan, who led the team to Champions League title last year, did not do all that well this year and MI were the only Indian side not to have won a single game in the just-concluded tournament. Among others, MI may also leave out Richard Levi.

Elsewhere, Johan Botha may be left out by Rajasthan Royals while Pune Warriors India have done awaywith New Zealander Jesse Ryder.
