Renowned singer Kumar Sanu, who recently joined BJP, on Saturday said he will work for the development of the people of Bengal , especially in eliminating illiteracy among poor children of the state.
"I want to work for the people of Bengal. I don't have any ambition to become minister. I specially want to work for the poor children and want to provide them with education. I am presently running a school in Canning area. With the help of BJP leadership I want to run more such schools for the poor children," Sanu said.
Kumar Sanu, a Padma Shri awardee, recently joined BJP in the presence of party President Amit Shah, saying he wanted to serve the poor and that a lot could be done under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He also expressed his anger against the present TMC regime and the former Left regime.
"Neither did the former regime nor the present regime has called me once. The TMC regime had once called me to give an honour during its 3.5 year regime," Sanu said.
