Speaking on a local news channel, Akram said that neither the Pakistan cricket authorities nor anyone in the team had 'approached him to help or advise them', Sport24 reported.
Akram said he wanted their players to 'adjust and do well in the tournament', but he couldn't do that without an 'invitation', the report added. Akram further said that he 'didn't want a job' in Pakistan cricket, adding that he just wanted to see them in the knockout stages.
Pakistan will next meet the West Indies on Saturday at Hagley Oval.
