The Indian cricket team led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni arrived in Nagpur on Thursday evening for the March 12 World Cup match against South Africa at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) stadium at Jamatha, about 18 kms near Nagpur.
The South Africans have already arrived here and had a training session today. India will have training session tomorrow, VCA said.
The match is a full house, it said.
Meanwhile, VCA chief Sudhir Dabir and commissioner of police, Ankush Dhanvijay told reporters that adequate security arrangements have been made for the match.
Two officers of the rank of inspector general (IG), two additional commissioners, four deputy commissioners of police, 21 assistant commissioners of police, 17 police inspectors, 174 police sub-inspectors, 215 constables/head constables and four companies of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), a total of 1500 policemen will be deployed.
The VCA has made free transport arrangements for fans to reach the venue. Hundred star buses will ply from 9.00am onwards from various locations to the VCA stadium. The fans will have to show entry passes for free travel, Dabir said.
