During Sunday night’s WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view event, Sami Zayn became the new WWE Intercontinental Champion after he defeated Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles in a Triple Threat Ladder match.
The trio brought in their A-game for the mid-card title. From Styles throwing a ladder onto Zayn or Jeff hitting a Swanton Bomb through the ladder, the match was brutally entertaining.
In the end, however, it was Sami Zayn who reclaimed the title as he never lost. Zayn took out two handcuffs from his jacket and used the first one to handcuff Hardy to the ladder through the gauge on his right ear.
Zayn then used the other to try and handcuff Styles but accidentally cuffed himself to the Phenomenal One. Styles then carried Zayn on his back and climbed the ladder while Hardy entered the ring with the ladder still handcuffed to his ears.
The Liberator then uncuffed himself from Styles and handcuffed the Phenomenal One to the ladder, climbed himself and unlocked both the Intercontinental titles to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion once again.
The Clash of Champions 2020 got a lot more interesting when Bayley spent her bit sitting on a chair, demanding she is declared the winner. When offering a challenge, RAW Women's Champion Asuka ended up becoming her title challenger.
Asuka wasn't too fresh but managed to put on a good fight, coming close to winning the title and becoming a double-champion.
However, Bayley had other plans. She was never expected to lose the SmackDown Women's Championship and her way of going about it was to ensure that she got herself disqualified.
As soon as Bayley got a receipt as the inured, Sasha Banks made a surprise attack on her as she returned at Clash of Champions 2020.
Sasha Banks, despite being far from 100% began a beatdown on Bayley, who just managed to escape.
