It’s not always that ‘Captain Cool’ loses his cool, but Wednesday was one of those days when Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to take apart a scribe for asking a negative question.
Things got a tad heaten in the post Indo-Bangladesh match press conference, where Dhoni was asked about his thoughts on the one-run victory and was reminded that the Men in Blue needed to improve their run rate but ultimately they barely managed to cross the line against their less fancied opponents.

The scribe was all set to ask another question when he was stopped in his gigantic strides by ‘Mahi’. “First of all it clearly seems that you are not happy with India’s victory and that’s very clear from your tone,” replied Dhoni.

“As far as the match is concerned, nothing is scripted. First of all you have to analyse that after losing the toss why didn’t we score that many runs on a pitch like this where the batsmen found it difficult to bat. So if you are not taking into account all these things by sitting in the press box, then you have no right to ask these questions,” Dhoni deposited the journalist in the stands.
The Indian captain was also irked by a Sanjay Manjrekar question in the post game interview. The former Indian cricketer asked whether the Bangladeshi batsmen could have just milked two singles when they needed 2 from 3, instead of going after the big shot. To this Dhoni replied, “It varies from player to player that he wants to do at a particular stage of a game. It’s very easy to comment on the outcome after seeing the action on TV but players on the ground are in best position to decide their right path.”

Incidentally, iconic Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan had expressed his disgust about Indian commentators spending more time praising opposition rather than India after this nail-biter.
