Playing in his 103rd Test match, Younis Khan got to the landmark after tea when he pushed England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid for a single to reach the landmark.

On Saturday, Younis Khan became the first Pakistani batsman to reach 9000 Test runs, after recently becoming the leading run-scored in Tests by overtaking Javed Miandad’s long-standing record of 8832.

Playing in his 103rd Test match, Younis Khan got to the landmark after tea when he scored a single off England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid. Younis has a plethora of records under his cap. He’s the only Pakistani batsman to have scored a century against all test-playing nations, and also has the highest average in the fourth innings among all batsmen (60.59) and the most number of Test cricket tons by a Pakistani (30).

Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq displayed a brilliant performance to help his side build a sizeable 358-run lead at the draw of stumps on the third day of the second match against England on Saturday. Misbah smashed eight boundaries and four sixes in his unbeaten knock of 87 and will be accompanied by Younis Khan (71 not out) when they will resume their innings tomorrow at 222-3.

Besides, Mohammad Hafeez also scored half century to accelerate the innings.  For England, Mark Wood and James Anderson shared three wickets among themselves. Earlier, resuming at an overnight score of 182 for three, England were bundled out for 242 in their first innings, thanks to Root (88) and skipper Alastair Cook (65). The first Test ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi last week, and the third will be played in Sharjah from November 1.
