Two persons were today electrocuted and as many injured when a tractor they were travelling in crashed into a high-voltage power pole, in Rajasthan's Chhittorgarh district.
The incident occurred at around 10 am when the driver lost control of the tractor and crashed into the pole, thus breaking the 11,000 kv electricity supply line that fell onto the passengers, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Vikas Jat, 17, of Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, and Jaswant Singh, 18, of Chhittorgarh in Rajasthan.
"The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nimbahera," said assistant sub-inspector of Nikumbh police station, Prakash Chandra.
The bodies were handed over to family members after the postmortem.
"Accused driver Babulal, who is also injured, has been booked under the charges of rash driving and causing death due to negligence," said Chandra.
