For the technology enthusiasts, reports are going around that MacBook Pro 16-inch with Apple M1X processor is going to be faster than the M1 processor. A tipster has come out to suggest that the processor will debut with a larger MacBook Pro, even though Apple has not come out with any information about it yet.
The tipster said that the name of the processor is not final either but shared more details about it referring to it as M1X processor.
LeaksApplePro, a known tipster, made a tweet earlier that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would come with the new M1X processor, which is more powerful than the M1 processor in the latest MacBook models.
The leaks suggest that unlike the M1 processor with eight cores, the M1X is going to come with 12 cores — eight will be performance cores and four will be efficiency cores.
Though there is no timeline for its launch yet, the tipster said that it will be unveiled in a press release.
"If you think M1 is fast, you haven't seen M1X," the tipster quotes a source as saying.
Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro, which debuted in November 2019, comes equipped with an octa-core Intel Core i9 processor. It is a powerful laptop, despite its thermal limitations.
The performance of the M1X processor will be something to watch for as the M1 processor is already efficient in smaller laptops. Previous reports suggested that a 14-inch MacBook Pro laptop with M1 processor would be launched in 2021 as well.
Apple launched MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini with M1 processors earlier this month. They have the same design as Intel-powered MacBook models.
Various experts suggest that the M1-powered laptops are outperforming their Intel counterparts across various benchmarks.
