Alert! Don't get cheated by online fraudster: Here's how to protect yourself

With a rising workforce, scams related to work from home (WFH) are also becoming more common these days, and they come in many forms like data entry job, copy paste job, envelope stuffing job, and other fraudulent offers. This is a type of scam where scammer promise individuals an online job opportunity in exchange for a handsome salary just by working for a few hours. The job seekers deposit a certain amount of money to avail the job and these fraudsters disappear without a trace.

In online shopping fraud, hackers create a false website and invite people with attractive offers, once the payment is made, the website either ships a different product, or you might never get a delivery.

This scam is prevalent mostly during the tax session in India. Taxpayers are asked to reply to SMS or WhatsApp message sent by fraudsters where the individual is asked to provide bank details and other sensitive information.

Scammers attract the credit card holders by offering attractive offers and rewards, the cardholder often falls into such trap and end up losing huge amount of money.

Matrimonial websites and apps are now used by millions of users. On these websites, fraudsters create fake profiles and dupe money from these users after establishing trust with them. 

In this type of fraud,  hacker steals your identity and poses as you to approach banks and your friends/family to ask for loans and financial aid.

In this type of fraud, the fraudster steals your personal information by posing as a registered company or a genuine person. This often involves fake emails and hyperlinks with the motive of stealing the user's banking and other sensitive financial information.
