ABB India's free@home system is easy to install, energy efficient, and is fully customisable and controllable from your smartphone or tablet.

ABB India has launched free@home, the intelligent home automation system, in Mumbai today. This easy-to-install solution brings together the controls of lighting, temperature control, blinds and security of the entire household on a single interface – your smart phone, tablet or computer. The plug and play free@home solution is intuitive and flexible enough to adapt to changing requirements, thus ensuring security.

“This is a state of the art development in the segment that will make home automation accessible to more individuals and families, while providing a business opportunity for electrical installers,” said Raimondo Salandra, President Low Voltage Products, ABB India. “The intelligent free@home simplifies home control."

Free@home claims to be easy to use and install and requires no new software. The panel acts as a link with the door communication system ABB-Welcome, allowing you to set a "Welcome scenario that has the lights turn on whenever the front door is opened. Individual timer programs can be entered in order to control heating and blinds, as well as integration for dimmers and movement detectors. A central switch at the door of the house allows you to turn off all the lights with one button.

Free@home also aims to help with security, activating lights and shutters on a timer to act as a deterrent for thieves looking for an empty house. A connection with the Busch-Welcome outdoor station also enables visitor scrutiny via camera, that you can access on your tablets or smartphone.
