It has the same iPhone 8 design, but the camera and processor are new.

Good news, iPhone users - a new iPhone is here. However, it is not the iPhone 12, if you are wondering. This one has the same name as an earlier device but comes in a new packaging some new features. Read on to know how much it's gonna cost.

Apple has officially announced the new iPhone SE, which is a comparatively low-cost device that has a storage of 64 GB. It looks similar to the iPhone 8, as it has the same 4.7-inch screen, large bezels on top and bottom, and a home button with a Touch ID. The design is the same that has stayed consistent since the iPhone 6 and essentially, the iPhone SE is that fifth generation of the same look.

It wouldn't be wrong to call it an iPhone 8 with a better camera and processor, with of course, a lower price tag.

The iPhone SE flaunts the same 4.7-inch Retina HD display and design as the iPhone 8. However, the body is now metal as opposed to a glass back. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 playback. It uses Haptic Touch for Quick Actions — such as animating Live Photos, previewing messages, rearranging apps and more.

Following the tradition, Apple hasn’t revealed the RAM size but confirmed that the phone will be made available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage models.

For the camera, Apple has used a single-camera system in iPhone SE with a 12-megapixel f/1.8 aperture wide-angle lens. The company says that the phone uses image signal processor and Neural Engine of A13 Bionic to unlock even more benefits of computational photography, including Portrait Mode, all six Portrait Lighting effects and Depth Control.5 Using machine learning and monocular depth estimation.

The rear camera also supports 4K videos up to 60fps and extended dynamic range to highlight details up to 30fps. In terms of connectivity, the new Apple iPhone SE will support dual-SIM. This will follow same one eSIM and a physical SIM tech inside. Additionally, there will be support for Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit LTE.

Now let's come to the pricing. Apple has said that the most affordable version of this phone will cost $399 for the 64 GB storage unit. This roughly translates to less than Rs 31,000. There will be a 128GB model on offer too. It’ll be available for $449 or Rs 34,500 approximately. The high-storage top-end model will pack 256GB internal storage for $549 or Rs 42,000. Please note that these are approximate prices and will be likely a bit higher when the phone becomes available in India.
