Everything about the Apple WWDC 2022 held on June 6

The Apple WWDC 2022 has come ahead with many surprises for Apple users. From SharePlay to dictation, the updated features will improve user experience like never before. Here are some updates that Apple has announced at the June 6 event.

1. Dictation

The dictation feature on iOS is set to get some amazing updates. Firstly, when a user starts dictating, the keyboard will remain open. This will allow the user to shift between using voice and touch to enter text. This update can be useful when dictation doesn't pick your verbal message clearly. Interestingly, dictation will now automatically add punctuation. Users can also choose an emoji automatically.

2. SharePlay

FaceTime's much-loved SharePlay feature is now extending to Messages. Apple users can now share content on Messages too. They can also undo sent Messages and edit them if they want.

3. Lock screen

One thing that you see throughout the day is your smartphone's lock screen, and Apple has made sure to update it, thereby improving the overall user experience. The lock screen will have a 'live screen' activity feature. If you have an application that sends you multiple notifications in a day, the lock screen will include those in a different manner so that your lock screen doesn't look crowded.

The tech giant has also introduced a new 'focus' filter to help users filter notifications from applications they might not need all the time. You can also customise your lock screen from the colour filter to the font used for showing time just with a long press. With its customisable lock screen, the iOS 16 is something like the Android 13.

4. Safety check

The 'Safety Check' is a new feature to ensure the safety of anyone who might be involved in an abusive relationship and wants to revoke any shared access with their partner. This feature will stop location sharing, reset privacy settings, and protect your messages like never before.

5. Kids control

The tech giant has improved kids' control making things easier for the parents. The brand will ease the process of setting up a new device for a child. The 'iCloud Shared Photo Library' will now function as a dedicated library that will allow five family members to share photographs. Interestingly, you can share these pics directly after you click them with the help of a dedicated button in the camera.

6. Apple Pay Later

Apple Pay Later will allow users to split payment and pay for a product over time. Notably, there is no extra interest in this. As of yet, Apple Pay is not available in India.

7. Apple Maps

Apple is set to introduce its redesigned version of Apple Maps to some countries. Unfortunately, India is not on the list yet.
