The Asus Chromebit could revolutionize the way people use a PC

Google announced the Asus Chromebit computer stick at the Google for India event in Delhi.

Google in collaboration with ASUS announced the ASUS Chromebit today. It was announced by the Product Management Director of Google, Caesar Sengupta, at the Google for India event in Delhi. The ASUS Chromebit is set to launch in India in January 2016 at INR 7999.

The computer stick plugs directly into the HDMI port of your TV or monitor and turns it into a desktop PC with an output of 1080p. It runs on Chrome OS and it is the cheapest computer stick in the market right now. The computer dongle went on sale in U.S.A last month and retailed at about $85.

The plug and play pocket-size computer can easily transform any monitor with an HDMI port into a computer. It is perfect if you're a little strapped for space or if you want a handy portable desktop PC. All you need to do is pop the top off to reveal the HDMI port and connect the ASUS Chromebit to the HDMI port of your TV or monitor. You then have to connect the ASUS Chromebit to a power adaptor (that will be provided) and you're good to go.

You can connect a mouse and keyboard via bluetooth or USB port, there is however, only one USB port so it is advised that you get a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to compliment the ASUS Chromebit.

The ASUS Chromebit comes packed with a Rocketchip 3288 ARM-based processor with 16GB internal memory and 2GB RAM. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and has a USB 2.0 port.
