Lava Pixel V2

The Lava Pixel V2 will be available September 15 for Rs 10,750

Lava yesterday announced the launch of its Pixel V2 smartphone with a price tag of Rs 10,750. Ace fashion photographer Subi Samuel partnering with Lava was present at the event to promote their handset. We managed to get our hands on the Lava Pixel V2 handset at the launch.

The Lava Pixel V2 has curved edges and is lightweight at 128g. The phone sports an 8MP front facing camera for selfies and 13MP rear camera. The camera also comes with a Blue Glass Filter, that cuts off infrared light, for better colours. The selfie cam has an impressive wide angle at 84 degrees and also has a panoramic mode. Video recording can be done in Full HD (1080p).

It has a 5-inch HD (1280x720) IPS display, and scratch-resistant  Dragontrail glass surrounded by thin bezels. We would have loved to see a Full HD screen though. The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64 bit quad-core processor and comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM. The handset has 16 GB of internal storage and is expandable up to 32 GB via micro-sd card. It is powered by Star OS 2.0, based on Android Lollipop 5.1. The Smartphone has dual 4G SIM slots (one dual slim slot can be occupied by either SIM or memory card) with dual standby. It also packs a decent 2500mAh non-removable Li-Po battery and a a 3.5mm audio jack on top. In terms of connectivity, it has 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.

TheLava Pixel V2 comes in two colors, Icy White and Royal Black. The black does look very attractive though as compared to the white model. The handset is priced at Rs 10,750 and will be available online and in retail stores from September 15.
