Lenovo is vying for the top spot amongst tablets with the new ThinkPad X1 tablet. At CES (Consumer Electronic Show) Lenovo unveiled this 12-inch tablet powered by Intel’s state-of-the-art Core m7 chipset.

At first glance the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 tablet looks like any run-of-the-mill windows powered tablet however, the ThinkPad X1 tablet comes with three attachments that can convert this average looking tablet into a laptop, a projector or a 3D camera. The attachments look like a battery packs and ironically one of the attachments gives the tablet an additional five hours of life.

The other attachments include a pico projector that produces a 60-inch display and Intel’s RealSense camera that comes in handy for capturing and editing objects for 3D Printing. The camera also has gesture control and facial recognition software that can be used to log into the tablet. Currently, just a handful of tablets have this type of camera placing Lenovo at the top of the food chain.
