Recently, OnePlus confirmed that the successor to the OnePlus 3T is expected to release around June or July this year. Now, new details regarding specifications for the flagship smartphone, OnePlus 5 have emerged.
Contrary to previous reports which suggested that the new device would sport 6GB of RAM, the new leak suggests that the OnePlus 5 will include 8GB of RAM. The alleged screenshot of the OnePlus 5 ‘About phone’ shared Weibo states the 128GB storage variant packs in 8GB of RAM and runs on HYdrogen OS based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat based operating system. At the moment, no other details have been shared.
Another rumour hinted that the new flagship device would opt for a Full HD 1080p display and would be backed up by a 3600mAh battery. Reportedly, it would offer 25 percent faster charging compared to existing OnePlus 3T. Lastly, the OnePlus 5 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
According to an image of the purported device, the device looks like it will have a dual camera setup on its back. Rumours suggest that the OnePlus 5 will come equipped with a pair of 12MP sensors. It has a similar metal frame made of brushed aluminium along rounded edges, which is seen on the OnePlus 3T. The smartphone might ditch the fingerprint scanner on the back and instead, place it under the screen on the front. Additionally, the OnePlus 5 does not seem to have the same antenna lines, which were also spotted on the OnePlus 3T. It sports a black color variant with the OnePlus logo placed at the back.
