According to thenextweb.com, the app is similar in functions and looks to its mobile counterparts.Quip says it has put a lot of effort into making the desktop app feel natively ingrained into the user's computer. Quip docs show up in Spotlight search on the Mac and also gives users notifications when documents that their tagged or working on get modified. Quip's desktop app allows for file creation if the users happen to be offline. When they re-establish a connection, their files will sync to the rest of their devices and Quip's cloud storage.According to the company, desktop now makes up 50% of usage. Quip says it wants to invest in the user experience hence it's rolling out a desktop app.
