"This is the most interesting eclipse of the year because it is the rare hybrid eclipse in which some sections of the path are annular (where the Moon does not completely block out the Sun) while other parts are total," said SPACE, an organisation working in the field of science and astronomy.

One can view the live hybrid solar eclipse simply by clicking on Eclipse Chasers Athenaeum-(ECA) website www.eclipsechasers.inIt would be visible over North Atlantic and equatorial Africa Sunday.

NASA calls this event "the most interesting eclipse of the year." According to NASA.gov, some sections of the path are annular while other parts are total, and the duality happens when the vertex of the Moon's umbral shadow pierces Earth's surface at some locations, but falls short of the planet along other sections of the path. Because hybrid eclipses occur near the vertex of the Moon's umbral/antumbral shadows, the central path is typically quite narrow, NASA says.
