Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of the new Samsung Z3, a Tizen-based smartphone, reaffirming Samsung’s commitment to strengthen the Tizen device portfolio and ecosystem in India. The next generation Samsung Z3, designed and manufactured in India, has been packed with a host of services and features for first time smartphone adopters in the country.
The Samsung Z3 comes preloaded with a new platform "My Galaxy", which extends personalised exclusive deals and offers to consumers. Samsung’s exclusive partnership with Mix Radio, a popular music streaming service, has also equipped the Z3 with an entertainment service on its device. Mr. H.C Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India Electronics, said, “The launch of Samsung Z3 re-emphasizes India’s significance as a key centre for innovation and development on the Tizen operating system, with India being the first country to globally launch the Z3. We were encouraged by the huge popularity of Samsung Z1, the first Tizen OS powered smartphone that sold over one million units within six months of its launch earlier this year.”
My Galaxy is a new engagement platform, which offers consumers value added services like an exclusive music service, personalized offers in categories like recharge, travel, movies, fashion etc. Samsung has tied up with brands such as Amazon, Paytm, BookMyShow, and Pizza Hut among others for the platform. It also provides post-purchase assistance by enabling location based discovery of service centres and stores. Samsung Z3 also features the newly introduced ‘Ultra Data Saving’ mode, providing data compression and app management capabilities resulting in up to 40% mobile data savings and up to 50% longer standby time.
The Samsung Z3 packs a 5-inch HD (1280x720) Super AMOLED display, with an 8MP f/2.2 rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. It has a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). It has a 2600mAh battery and runs Tizen OS, v2.3. Samsung Z3 is available in three brilliant colour variants, Gold, Black and Silver.
This Z3 will be available across all Samsung’s retail channels from the coming week at a price of Rs 8,490, and online exclusively on Snapdeal.
