Apple has for the first time tied up with an online partner to sell their phones at launch--Flipkart has just opened pre-bookings on both their mobile app on on their website for these much-anticipated phones. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is available across 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options, with prices extending from 60,000 to Rs 92,000. The launch is still scheduled at the official 7 October date, but the ability to book one of these phones beforehand will save you the bother of trudging over to your local electronics store.
The interesting part though, is that if you happen to have a Citibank credit card, you can actually snag a further Rs 10,000 saving off the list prices of these phones. There is a catch though--this cashback is not an immediate savings, it will only be credited to your card statement by 8 Jan 2017. Still this is certainly not a trivial amount, if you’re willing to wait out the credit period.
Flipkart is also offering an exchange of up to Rs 24,500 for functional devices with an intact display. Via the app itself, you can determine the exchange value of your current phone (or manually enter the model number of any phone.) You’ll then see the calculated exchange value against the overall value of the phone. The app also captures the IMEI number of the phone, which is verified on collection.
So if you’ve been hankering for one of Apple’s new phones, it’s time to break out that Citibank card, or get in the good books of someone who happens to have one.
