Watch: Rare and spectacular Blue Dragon washes ashore in Australia

Glaucus atlanticus, a sea slug popularly known as the blue dragon.

Lucinda Fry posted a video she took of a sea slug Glaucus Atlanticus or the Blue Dragon. A rather rare spot.

When you see the the Glaucus Atlanticus more popularly known as the Blue Dragon, the sight is one to treasure. Not only because it is rare but also because it is probably the most fascinating creature on Earth. What is even more surprising is that it is a sea slug and is tiny - just over an inch.

So one can imagine Lucinda Fry's delight when she spotted this spectacular creature on the beach. She posted a video on facebook to share it with the world. 

 

Came across this odd critter at Broadbeach today. It's a Glaucus Atlanticus.

The Blue Dragon is known to float upside down on the surface tension of water. Apart from being blue, true to its name it also stings if touched. It lives off other creatures such as the Portuguese man o' war.
