A new startup from Australia aims to give ‘shelter and dignity’ to everyone.
The startup called Humanihut have designed a portable housing system that is not only inexpensive and easy to assemble but also provides ‘robust shelter and storage solution’.
The Humanihut Shelter System can give the underprivileged, refugees or anyone affected by natural disaster ‘short, medium or long-term housing’ facilities.
The portable houses are also foldable for easy transportation, about 16 of these houses can fit inside a standard shipping container. Furthermore, the huts are also very durable, each hut has a life expectancy of about of 20 years.
Each unit measures 22-feet in length and is 8-feet tall with solar panels on the roof for self-sustainable power solutions. The walls are made from steel and are insulated to comfort its inhabitants from hot or cold weather. Each house also comes with its own water purification and heating equipment as well as a sink, a bench and a table.
The huts are also very easy to setup.
“Each Humanihut can be erected in 5 minutes by a small team and a forklift,” said the company on its official website.
