Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said the multi-device feature will not compromise the end-to-end encryption.

WhatsApp users will soon be getting three new features, including the 'view once' feature. The messaging platform will also bring a 'disappearing mode' as well as multi-device mode, in which users will be able to access their accounts from up to four linked devices

The company's head Will Cathcart, in an interview with WABetaInfo, informed that WhatsApp on iPad might be supported because of the multi-device feature. Cathcart just stopped short of confirming reports that WhatsApp has an iPad app in development, saying that multi-device support will make the app on iPad a possibility.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said the multi-device feature will not compromise the end-to-end encryption.

The multi-device feature has been in testing for quite some time and is expected to be rolled out soon. The feature allows you to use your WhatsApp account on multiple devices even if there's no active internet connection on your main device.

Cathcart also mentioned that another feature `View Once` will be rolled out soon, so the recipient can only open your photos and videos once before they disappear from the chat.

Another feature, the disappearing mode, will turn on disappearing messages for all your chats. While WhatsApp launched the disappearing messages feature last year that can be used to automatically make messages disappear after seven days, the disappearing mode will turn the entire WhatsApp experience ephemeral.

Zuckerberg also confirmed to the website that a disappearing mode is coming to WhatsApp that automatically enables ephemeral messages in new chat threads.

As per the report, these features are coming for WhatsApp beta users soon.

Apart from multi-device support, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is working on a new password-protected encrypted chat backups feature, that may allow users to transfer their chat histories between iOS and Android devices.
