The Dial smartwatch from Will.i.am.

The smartwatch is a standalone wearable, with no need for a tethered smartphone.

The Dial, a smartwatch designed by none other than singer Will.i.am (of Black Eyed Peas fame), is now available for preorder in the UK

Dial is a standalone smartwatch, allowing you to slot in a packaged Three SIM card to call, text, and even access the internet from the device without a paired smartphone. Interestingly, the wearable has it's own digital assistant ", AneedA, similar to Cortana and Siri. However, while the store's description of the device labels it a voice-enabled smartwatch, there's no telling how exactly AneedA is any different than here counterparts.

The Dial features a 1.6-inch (320x320) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3. It packs a Qualcomm MSM8226 processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB microSD storage slot and a 2MP front-facing camera. The smartwatch is powered by a 800mAh battery and is rated at IP54 water resistance.

The watch also offers free music streaming from i.am+, with over 20 million ad-free tracks, powered by 7digital, and is available in Black and White in two size variants. The Dial is up for preorder exclusively from UK telecom operator Three for £24/month (US $35) with an up-front payment of £49 (US $71).
