Xiaomi, now looking to offline retail channels for product distribution

The pioneers of the online Flash Sale model, Xiaomi is now making their devices available via offline retail outlets as well.

Washington, April 8 (ANI): In a bid to expand its presence in India, Xiaomi has reportedly struck a deal with two major Indian e-commerce sites, barring Flipkart, and offline retailers for selling its Mi devices in the country.

Manu Jain, the head of Xiaomi India, said that customers will now be able to buy Mi devices from "The Mobile Store's" 800 outlets across India, as well as stores from operator Airtel, reported Tech Crunch.

Hugo Barra, the company's international head, said that Xiaomi devices will also be available on Amazon India and Snapdeal.

The Chinese company initially entered India through an exclusive partnership with Flipkart. However, after selling one million devices in its first five months, the company is now broadening its distribution to reach more consumers and drive increased sales.

The move also implies that Xiaomi will finally stop requiring users to pre-register for its flash sales.
