Aside from their phone launches today, Xiaomi also had another offering from their Beijing event: an all new WiFi router. Sound straightforward? It’s XIaomi, of course things aren’t that simple.
Xiaomi already has two routers under their belt; the Mi WiFi, with its built-in storage drive, and the Mi WiFi Mini, their dual band AC router. Enter the all-new Mi WiFi Nano. This baby sits in the palm of your hand and will still connect your entire house (in most cases).
It’s a PCB antenna router with 802.11n WiFi capability, with a 150 square metre coverage. It has an MTK 7628N processor, 64MB RAM and 16MB storage, and comes with a Micro USB port. Why, you ask? So that you can plug your router into a power bank of course. Aimed to be an ultra portable WiFi connector, you can plug in the WiFi nano to the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank and get 30 straight hours of run time. And all of that for a measly price of RMB 79; that’s about US $12. Let’s hope this is something Xiaomi brings to India during their Delhi event on August 19.
