The Xiaomi Redmi 5A will on sale today via Flipkart and Mi.com at 12PM. The device will be available in two variants - 16GB, 2GB RAM priced at Rs 4,999 and the 32GB, 3GB RAM priced at Rs 6,999.
As a part of Xiaomi’s Mi Fan Sale, the 16GB variant of the Redmi 5A receives a discount of Rs 1000 and is now priced at Rs 4,999. Additionally, Axis Bank Buzz credit card users can avail an extra 5 percent off while purchasing the device. In partnership with Reliance Jio, customers can avail a cashback of Rs 1000, after 12 months as well.

Along with this offer, the sale was also offering users the ability to buy the Redmi 5A at Re 1. Accessories such as the Mi VR 2 headset, Mi Router 3C, Mi Wi-Fi Repeater 2 and Mi Band-HRX Edition were also available at this price. The Xiaomi Re 1 flash sale will be conducted at 2PM today.
This is the first time that Xiaomi products are listed at a price of Re 1 during a sale. This sale will be available on the app, as well as on the website. Once the devices are added to the cart, customers will have an option to purchase them within the first two hours.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, paired with 2GB/3GB RAM. The smartphone will be available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants, and can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
Running Android Nougat with MIUI 9 on top, the Redmi 5A comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and f/2.2 aperture along with a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS and microUSB port. The smartphone measures 140.4x70.1x8.35mm and weighs 137 grams. A 3000mAh battery completes the package. The company claims that the Xiaomi Redmi 5A can last up to 8 days on standby and up to 7 hours of video playback.
