Directed by Prakash Jha, Aashram was followed by a second season titled Aashram Chapter 2: The Dark Side. The show also starred Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, and Anupria Goenka. According to the director, it garnered over 400 million views.

The DNA review of the second season read, "Very rarely do any of the characters get to explore their potential fully, which is exhausting to watch. Despite placing characters at an unusual time, there is no big plot twist. Like Beena would tell Akhanand in 'Mirzapur' 'hamesha garam karke thanda chodh dete ho,' seems to be the technique Jha used on the viewers. Unlike the first part, Prakash Jha-Bobby Deol's 'Aashram: Chapter 2' is monotonous with its scenes, and has focused on music over acting, which gets disappointing soon enough."

Bobby, for the uninformed, recently also completed 25 years in films. Speaking about it, he told Hindustan Times, "The pace was slower then. Stardom had a different flavour to it. In those days, if you got a glimpse of an actor, that was the most amazing moment of your day and life. That was the excitement of being a star. Now, being a star is that you’ve to speak about yourself all the time, you have to make yourself seen. The new generation has evolved. You have to move with the times."
