TV Actor Hiba Nawab says she can't wear bikini, show cleavage as she belongs to a 'Muslim family'

Hiba Nawab says that she is opposing her family culture a lot and doesn’t want to push it even further.

Actress Hiba Nawab is a well-known face in the TV industry. The ‘Jijaji Chhat Per Koii Hai’ fame is currently in her hometown Bareilly as her show has gone on an indefinite halt due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

In a recent interview, the actress has opened up about her choice of clothing and why she can’t wear provocative clothes like bikinis. The actress has also said that she wants to work in a web series but is ‘uncomfortable’ with intimate scenes.

Hiba says that she belongs to a Muslim family and has a different culture. The actress shares that she is opposing the culture a lot and doesn’t want to push it even further. “This is my decision along with my family’s,” she said while speaking to ETimes.

The ‘Tere Sheher Mei’ actress says that even now at times her family is not okay with her dressing in a certain way and wants her to dress differently. “But I have been a little rebellious and don’t want to hurt their sentiments further. They are very understanding and supportive. But I don’t want to wear a bikini, showing cleavage and all,” she said adding that the decision is hers and there’s no conflict.

Hiba has said that she wants to be part of a web series but is not comfortable exposing herself or doing bold scenes. “I do get calls and the moment I ask if there are any kissing or intimate scenes, they say yes,” she said adding that her family is not in favour of it and she is also not comfortable.

Hiba’s show ‘Jijaji Chhat Per Koii Hai’ has been halted indefinitely and the actress said there are many insecurities and negativity that arise because of it but one has to stay positive.

“An actor is a very insecure being. Shows go off-air for many reasons and now one more reason has been added to the list – lockdown. Jijaji S2 is my sixth show and for the first time, my show has been put on hold indefinitely. I have seen a lot, have been depressed, I have cried a lot but then at the end of the day, you accept it and move on thinking better things will come,” she said.

The actor feels that its okay to cry out loud when you are feeling too low. “Sometimes when my heart is full I just cry. I cry out loud, I scream my lungs out and cry but in my room. I don’t want to haunt my family. It is normal to feel a certain way when you are locked in a room, not working, not being productive,” she adds. Hiba said it's okay to vent but it's important to remember that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
