When life is bleak or not going the way you planned, or especially now, amid the coronavirus self-isolation requirement, television is an opportunity for us to escape into another world – one with our favourite characters. The characters thus play a major part of our lives, and the happiest ones always manage to bring a smile on our faces no matter what.
So this International Day of Happiness, let’s pay an ode to some of the happiest characters on television who have never failed to make us laugh or at the least leave us smiling from one ear to the other.

3. Phil Dunphy on Modern Family

Phil Dunphy takes the prize for not only being the funniest character on Modern Family but also on television. And his comic timing is not just attributed to his physical sense of comedy but also to his character that is ready to go to any length and strive to make everyone happy around him. What’s more? 4. Jake on Brooklyn Nine Nine

Jake Peralta is another television character that is sunshine in a human form. He has a mind of a child and is not afraid to look goofy in front of anyone. As demonic as he’s supposed to be, he much rather spend time on Earth where he gets to bask in the planet’s abundant supply of expensive liquor, best restaurants, free will et al.
