Mohit Raina, who shot to fame after playing the titular character in popular mythological show, Devon Ke Dev: Mahadev, is all set to be seen in the character of a Sikh Havildar in his upcoming TV show 21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897. The show is said to be based on the battle of Saragarhi.
21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897 will portray the story of 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikh regiment of the British Army, who defended the Saragarhi outpost in Noth West Frontier Province in September 1897. They were defending the army outpost against an onslaught by more than 10,000 Pashtun and Orakzai tribals and Mohit will be playing Havildar Ishar Singh.
The teaser of the show has already been released and it goes on air tonight. Mohit's rumoured girlfriend Mouni Roy happened to catch a preview screening for the show and was all praises for her Mahadev co-star.
A report on the Times Of India quoted Mouni as saying, "It is one of it's kind show on Indian television. These kind of shows are rarely made in our TV industry. We usually get to see social drama, saas-bahu sagas, fantasy fiction, historical or mythological something like this which evokes so much of patriotism in you is what I personally like to watch. This I feel is Mohit's finest work after Mahadev. I really enjoyed it and the most important thing is that I couldn't make out the difference between the real locations and the VFX. This goes on to prove the quality of the show. If you look at the story, screenplay and casting, everything is so appropriate."
While the duo has never admitted about their relationship in public, some time back rumour mills were busy churning that they're going to split. But looks like both Mouni and Mohit are going pretty strong. Mouni will soon be seen making her Bollywood debut in Akshay Kumar starrer Gold.
Incidentally, Akshay is also playing the protagonist in the film based on Battle of Saragarhi, titled Kesari. Other films on the same incident is in the pipeline by Ajay Devgn and Randeep Hooda as well.
