Actor Addite Malik recently gave birth to a baby boy and is ecstatic to be enjoyed motherhood. Calling her motherhood journey a ‘mixed bag of emotions’, the actor opened up about her pregnancy and days after the delivery in an interview with ETimes TV.
The actor said that she couldn’t stop crying when she first saw her baby and that it was husband Mohit Malik who not only supported her but handled the baby and everything else.
“After my delivery, the first two days were very difficult. I felt that I can’t do this, but fortunately Mohit was there and more than me I think he beautifully took the job, he was so good that by looking at him I became confident. He has been my pillar in overcoming all the fears which were there. Now, everything is easier because our baby is 9 days-old and the feeling is sinking,” Addite said.
Calling him her ‘pillar of support’, Addite feels that more than her, Mohit feels like the baby’s mamma.
“Mohit was away for two hours and I was worried how I would manage. More than me I feel Mohit is our baby’s mamma. Our baby, whenever I say Baba he starts looking for him. Imagine he is just 9-days-old and he knows Mohit’s smell so well,” the actor added.
The Shararat fame opens up about the many different emotions that one goes through and has started jotting these feelings in a journal. These are emotions which I have not felt before.
“You love people, there are people in your life and around you but when it’s your child the kind of emotions you are feeling is something which I want to memorise for my entire life. I want to preserve them,” the actor said.
“You feel there is a soul which is completely dependent on you. You have the entire responsibility he can’t talk, the only thing he can do is cry. Motherhood is a task,” she added.
Addite broke the news of their son’s birth through social media. “He's Here and He's Truly Magic. From 2 to 3, Happily Ever After…” she wrote in her post.
Mohit tested positive for COVID-19 in January and Addite says she got panic attacks at night because of it.
On shedding that pregnancy weight the actor says she won’t rush into anything.
“I think your body has gained weight and let it take it’s own course and it is very important. Do not rush into anything because you don’t know your body after delivery and what it is going through,” she said.
