Reportedly, apart from Sharad Kelkar, actor Arshad Warsi was also approached to play Rupali's new male lead in 'Anupamaa'. Warsi denied the report.

In just a matter of one year, ‘Anupamaa’ has proved to be one most loved and watched shows. It is not just the show’s storyline that people relate to, but also its stellar star cast that has formed a connection with people’s hearts. Recently there has been some chatter that makers of the show are planning to rope in a new male lead for Anupamaa, who is played by Rupali Ganguly.

The new lead will essay the character of a collaborator for Anupamaa’s dance academy but will also turn out to be her childhood admirer. While the makers are on the lookout for this new lead, as per reports, ‘The Family Man’ actor Sharad Kelkar is also being considered for the role.

Sharad Kelkar, however, has denied the reports and also stated if approached for the show, he doesn’t have time for daily soaps. In an interview with India.com, the actor said, “No, there is nothing of that sort. No no no. I don’t think I have dates for daily soaps.”

Recently, there were reports that Arshad Warsi will take on the role of the new male lead. Taking to Twitter, the actor quashed the rumours and called them ‘untrue’. “This news is absolutely UNTRUE. Please get your facts right,” he wrote in his tweet.

Reportedly, apart from Sharad Kelkar and Arshad Warsi, actors such as Rajeev Khandelwal, Salil Ankola, and Vishal Singh have also been considered to play Anupamaa’s new love interest.

Currently, in the show, Anupamaa has finally opened her dance academy while Vanraj and Kavya are jobless. Despite that, Kavya still hasn’t changed her attitude and blames Anupamaa for her misery.

Meanwhile, Shard Kelkar who started his career as a TV artist has worked in several movies including ‘Laxmii’ which also stars Akshay Kumar, ‘Tanhaji’ and ‘Bhoomi’. He was most recently seen in ‘The Family man 2’ and will be next seen in ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ alongside Ajay Devgn.
