It's been a while since the fans of popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have seen their favourite Disha Vakani aka Dayaben on the show. The actress, who shot to fame with the sitcom, went on maternity leave last year and hasn't returned yet. While the makers had already confirmed that despite their repeated efforts to reach out to her, the actress won't be returning to the show.
A hunt for Disha Vakani's replacement as Dayaben on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had already begun and now, looks like the makers have finally zeroed in on Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actress Vibhuti Sharma for the role. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then Vibhuti has already taken a mock test for the role as well.
A report on Pinkvilla suggested that the auditions for the role of Dayaben are still going on and the entire process is being taken quite slowly as nothing is decided as of now.
Earlier, several reports had suggested that Ami Trivedi might be the new Dayaben on the show. However, the makers had not confirmed the same. Later on, several reports suggested that the makers of the show are open to the idea of having Disha back on TMKOC, but clearly that's not happening any more.
