Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain is one of the most popular comedies on television right now. It is loved by masses and as it turns out, it is loved by classes too.
In a Twitter conversation with one of the leading ladies of the show, Saumya Tandon, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju revealed that his wife and the minister himself are fans of the show.
Journalist Rahul Pandita tweeted questioning the TV watching habits of Indian viewers. Tandon quoted his tweet with her own response saying, "Thank God they do, else I would be out of job, then you will have to write a good film script for me."
Tandon plays the character of Anita Bhabhi on the show. She is called Gori Mem on the show by Happu Singh.
The show premiered in 2015 and in no time became one of the top ranking comedy show on Indian primetime TV.
“My father suggested that I try something on the local cable channel. I did and earned Rs 700 there. That’s where it all began. I often performed on stage for small, local events and when I came to Delhi for higher education, I had a part-time job to pay my college fees. I hosted shows for small channels and sometimes even worked as an usher for events," Tandon revealed the story of her initial journey into the world of entertainment in a recent interview.
“From a girl who read news on the local cable channel during her school days to somebody who now works on national television and has acted in movies, I had an ardent desire to fulfil my dreams and am glad that it came true," she said.
