Emraan Hashmi will be playing the lead role of Kabir Anand in 'The Bard Of Blood'

Netflix has already had its fair share of big successses with shows like Stranger Things, Mindhunters and Narcos. On the Indian front, Netflix recently had a huge hit with the Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui series Sacred Games, which has garnered critical acclaim. Now, Netflix is gearing up for their next Indian show, The Bard of Blood, and has roped in Emraan Hashmi to play the lead role.

Netflix released a teaser clip for the series with Emraan Hashmi taking on the role of Kabir Anand. Netflix is producing the show in collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. The Bard of Blood will be based on the eponymous book written by Bilal Siddiqi. Emraan himself shared the teaser on his social media with the caption "'To be, or not to be’... The answer is to be. Ready 'to be' Kabir Anand. Excited to be a part of this thrilling journey !!"

The show revolves around expelled spy, Kabir Anand, who is called upon from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and his long-lost love. The eight-part series promises to be high-octane and intellectual, and we think Emraan Hashmi might just be able to fit the bill!
