It's been two years but felt like a lifetime for Game of Thrones fans while waiting for the final season of the show. The first episode of the eighth season is finally out and it 'has no name'! Well, it has been worth the wait and all people expected after watching the full-blown trailer released last month came to life in this episode. A reunion of all sorts we must say!
*Major Major Major Spoilers, Read At Your Own Risk*
If you remember, the first ever episode of Game of Thrones , 'Winter is coming' was majorly set in Winterfell with King Robert Baratheon arriving with the 'Lannisters' at Ned Stark's abode. The new episode will give you major deja vu feels with Arya witnessing Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen touching down Winterfell and she can't contain her happiness seeing her brother. In a matter of just one minute, Arya's expressions change by seeing The Hound and the one who calls Arya 'milady' cutely, Gendry. Cut to another deja vu moment of Sansa Stark and Bran Stark welcoming their brother Jon Snow and the Mother of Dragons just the way they stood when the King arrived in the first ever episode.
Two of the strongest women of the show, Daenerys and Sansa finally meet and there's visible tension between them like we all expected. How can I forget the dragons?! When Jon tells Dany that he warned her about Northerners not trusting the outsiders, her two children make a grand entry leaving everyone in Winterfell in astonished. Jon gets overwhelmed meeting Bran, who is a full-grown man. On the other hand, the three-eyed raven breaks the news about the Night King changing is coming and one of Daenerys' dragon is spitting ice instead.
Jon Snow announces that he is no more a King in the North and he has given up on the title to form allies and protect the North instead of keeping the crown.
Then comes one of the most emotional moments which made me shed a tear. The reunion of Jon Snow and Arya Stark! Their intense conversation before the bear hug is major feels. Well, there's a comparison between the Needle and the Valyrian steel, jealous much, Arya? Oh, you will know! She even warns the 'Targaryen', Jon Snow, to not forget his Stark family. Aah, you will see.
Yara Greyjoy is captivated by her evil brother Euron Greyjoy, who manages to sleep with the Queen Cersei Lannister like he tells his sister. Cersei is even seen showing her sadistic side by expressing joy over the fact that the Dead have broken through the wall.
Here comes the 'How to Train your Dragon' moment for Jon Snow, who goes on a spin with Dany on her dragons. Awww, they have a cute intimate moment, which is interrupted by an evil stare of the dragon. Will Jon be the dragon's meal for getting naughty with their mother? Only time will tell.
R+L=J! Yes, that's already proven and now it has reached to the ears of Jon Snow, the true heir to the Iron Throne. His not-so-brother Bran makes sure Jon knows about his true identity.
If this was the start, we can't wait to know what happens in the next five episodes.
Look out for this:
1. Arya Stark wants a sword of Valyrian Steel and takes help of Gendry for it.
2. Bran meets his old friend Jamie Lannister, the best way to end the episode like the way they ended the first ever episode of Lannister throwing the Stark kid off the tower. You remember it, right?
3. Samwell Tarly finally gets to know about the execution of his father and brother in the hands of Daenerys Targaryen.
4. Brace yourself! The jumpscare towards the end of the episode will freak you out.
