Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner got inked and the fandom lost their collective minds thinking about the meaning of the tattoo and whether it reveals a new information about the plot of the last season of the award-winning series.
Sophie Turner got a tattoo that has The House of Stark emblem of direwolf and a line written under it: The Pack Survives.
The complete dialogue was uttered by Ned Stark. "In the winter, we must protect ourselves — look after one another. Sansa is your sister. When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives," he tells Arya Stark.
Turner's character, Sansa Stark, repeated the line in the last season after the death of Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish.
Lauren Winzer, from the Hunter and Fox Tattoo Studio in Sydney, Australia shared an image with the accompanying message: "First tattoo back home! Thank you so much for getting this from me @sophiet ! bad ass !"
The most obvious conclusion was that Stark family will survive the war The Night King is ready to inflict on the people of Westeros. But given the merciless treatment of the characters that made House of Stark, the lords of Winterfell haven't had the best of luck in the series. The Stark pack only has Jon Snow, Sansa, Arya, and Bran. Jon Snow barely survived the one-on-one fight with The Night King beyond the wall. Daenerys Targaryen lost one of her dragons in that fight. Arya has to work on her kill list. Sansa's proximity to the war is also not one of the safest places to be.
So... anything is possible.
Turner's tattoo could just be about honouring the show that gave her the fame and platform to showcase her talents.
This isn't the only Game of Thrones tattoo she has. She got another one with her bestie and on-screen sister Maisie Williams. The duo has a simple date — 07.08.05 — tattooed on to represent the day they both were cast to be part of the show.
This is not the first time cast members have gotten inked to honour the conclusion of their shooting schedules. The trend actually started with the cast of Lord of the Rings. Most recently the six original Avengers got a similar tattoo to mark the decade-long journey of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
So, we don't think there is any need to read too much into the beautiful direwolf tattoo. Get inspired maybe?
