Author Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan franchise is recreated into an 8 episode Prime Original series by Graham Roland and Carlton Cuse in association with Amazon Prime Video for digital audiences across the world. Director of A Quiet Place and The Office alum John Krasinski is stepping into the shoes previously worn by Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, and Wonder Woman star Chris Pine.

This protagonist is a US Marine–turned–Wall Street stockbroker–turned–CIA analyst–turned–operative.

"I really loved the idea of playing a superhero whose only real superpower is using his brain, and his instincts. It's very inspiring in the world of superheroes and capes and flying and shooting things out of your hands. It's nice to focus on real people and real heroes," says Krasinski about his character.

Graham Roland, one of the producers of the show was a US Marine himself just like the character of Jack Ryan and is very knowledgeable on the subject of the US military. During his time with the US defence ministry. Graham Roland also visited Iraq thrice during the Iraq War. What attracted him to the show was the fact that Jack Ryan is packed with references to the armed forces and modern military conflicts across the globe.

"Tom Clancy’s works resonate because the depth of knowledge and being able to drop the audience into a world that felt real. We really wanted to show how it is to be like at the lower levels, just to be an analyst and go to work every-day and protect your country, sort of the unsung hero. To be given amazing military consultants, ex-navy seals all of these things add to the authenticity of the show," said Roland

His hands-on knowledge helped make the show as authentic as possible.

Jack Ryan is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 31st August 2018.
