Kapil Sharma has once again become the centre of a controversy. But that is not the reason why viewers won't see 'Family Time With Kapil Sharma' this weekend.

Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma went on an ugly, full-blown abusive rant on Twitter on Friday, against journalist Vickey Lalwani, his former managers Preeti and Neeti Simoes. He also filed a police complaint against them for defaming him.

Preeti and Neeti were also the creative director his previous TV show The Kapil Sharma Show.

The rant, which became the social media fodder in time, began with defending Bollywood superstar Salman Khan over the blackbuck poaching case. The tweets were deleted and it was posted on his page that his account was hacked.

Kapil, however, today revealed his account was not hacked and he posted the tweets, which were later deleted by his team.

"Maine jo b likha tha apne dil se likha tha.. it was my team who deleted my tweets .. But main is ... reporter se darne wala nahi hu.. he can write anything for anybody just for few bucks. Shameless. (Whatever I wrote was from my heart. It was my team who deleted my tweets. But I am not afraid of this money hungry reporter. He can write anything for anybody just for few bucks. Shameless.)" Kapil tweeted on Saturday.

Amid all this drama, reportedly, Kapil Sharma's new show will suffer. According to sources, the TV host hasn't shot for new episodes of his latest offering Family Time With Kapil Sharma. Because of this, the channel will now show the rerun of his other show The Kapil Sharma Show.

"Kapil has been keeping to himself and seems like he is depressed and worried over something. He isn’t talking to his team or interacting with anyone. After the Rani Mukerji shoot got cancelled, the team couldn’t get through to Kapil and no other episode could be shot for the week. With nothing to showcase, the channel has decided to air his old episodes to keep his fans happy," a source was quoted as saying in an Indian Express report.

DNA AfterHrs had earlier reported that the channel is at their wit's end with the star of their show.

“They wanted Kapil to hold a press conference, but he asked them for time. He told them he will address the media after a couple of episodes are aired. Now, there is an internal dispute going on about how many episodes should be aired. The show has been slated for 26 episodes, but the channel is thinking of cutting it to 15-20 if the reactions are not good and ratings are not as expected,” says a source.

The new show was launched on March 25. It aired three episode but has none left in the bank. This will affect the ratings of the show in coming weeks.

Kapil, who became a household name with show Comedy Nights with Kapil, has been going through a rough patch in his career as well as in his personal life.

It all started with infamous mid-night brawl with actor Sunil Grover. Followed by which Grover left his show along with other artistes including Ali Asgar.

Last year, Kapil, 37, had confessed that he was suffering from depression and had undergone treatment for the same.
