Gautam Rode, in Jaipur to shoot the promo of his upcoming show, talks about television as his favourite medium, being married, and more...

Gautam Rode, a popular face on television, is all set to return to the television with the second season of Kaal Bhairav Rahasya. The actor was in the Pink City to shoot for the promo of the show, and headed back to Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Rode shared with AFTERhrs, why he chose this project as his comeback, “This was the perfect show for me to be back on the screen, since it is a mystery thriller -- I like the thrill element in it, and since it is a 120 episode series -- I like this kind of work, because it is set for a set period of time.” The actor believes that this is the time, when the medium doesn’t really matter but what matters is a good script. “Whatever I do, no matter it’s for television, web or the big screen -- it should satisfy me as an actor... Like I played Rudra in Mahakumbh, that kind of a character is not very easy to play on television. It was tough, yet very satisfying for me,” he expressed. Rode also opened up why Rajasthan is special to him, life post marriage and the kind of work he wishes to do.

Feeling Lucky!

Rode, who will be back on screen after almost two years, opined that, if given a choice, he would opt for a series only at this point of time in his career. “I am more inclined towards such projects which get over in six months; it is because of the same reason that I have got to play so many characters till now. It is good for an actor since, as you don’t get to play many characters while you’re working in television space being a male, so I am lucky that way,” opined the actor, further adding that he loves playing the masculine roles. The actor also has in mind, to develop something of his own, “I have 2-3 concepts in mind, one is based on sports and patriotism and one is a love story with a twist,” he opened up.

“Wife Becomes Best Friend”

The actor who got married earlier this year with Pankhuri Awasthy, when quizzed if things have changed after the two tied the knot, he opened up how things have changed in the head but nothing practically. “Nothing has changed really, just that your wife becomes your best friend and you share everything with her instead of your friends. It is a lovely feeling, you feel secured, settled in the head and at the same time more responsible,” expressed the actor. While, talking in terms of work, he added, “Work remains the same, but whatever time was spent at the gym post shoots, is now spent at home with family. After few hours of work, you feel like running back to your family.”

Feeling Like Nowhere Else

The actor who shot for the promo at Samode Palace and stayed at the Samode Bagh, opened up how he used to come to Jaipur back when he stayed in Delhi. “It has this royal feeling -- one doesn’t get this feel anywhere else; the culture here is so rich and the people here are so respectful, that was one of the reasons why I decided to get married at the Tijara Fort in Alwar,” said Rode.
