Krushna Abhishek evades questions on Navjot Singh Sidhu's ouster from 'The Kapil Sharma Show'

Krushna Abhishek, on Tuesday, evaded questions on Navjot Singh Sidhu's ouster from 'The Kapil Sharma Show' by saying that he cannot comment on it until having a word with the channel. At a recent media event, when asked to comment on latest reports of Sidhu being replaced by Archana Puran Singh on his show, Krushna said:

"Mujhe nahi pata kya chal raha hai lekin filhaal desh mein mahaul theek nahi hai. Sab shok mein hain. Halaaki Archana Puran Singh ke saath hum shoot kar chuke hain lekin Archana ne kisi media ko kaha hai ki abhi tak unhone puri tarah contract sign nahin kiya hai. Lekin phir bhi mein channel se baat karke hi kuch comment kar sakta hun. (I don't know what's going on but currently the country's atmosphere is not right. Everyone is mourning. We have already shot a few episodes with Archana Puran Singh. But, Archana has told some media house that she hasn't yet signed the full contract. I would only be able to comment after having a word with the channel.)"

On Saturday, it was reported that Navjot Singh Sidhu had been replaced by Archana Puran Singh because he had prior commitments and, later, Sony TV also confirmed that Archana will be joining the show. However, the tweet did not reveal if she would actually be replacing Sidhu.

Sidhu, a TV personality and also a minister in the Punjab governement, courted controversy over comments he made after 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Pulwama terror attack last week.

Comedian and his old-associate, Kapil Sharma, also provoked people's ire on Monday after he said at an event in Chandigarh that 'banning or sacking' Navjot from his comedy show is 'not the perfect solution'. His statements created quite a stir on social media. However, Krushna says he has no clue about it!

"Kapil ne kya bola mujhe nahin pata usne kya bayaan diya. Mujhe Kapil ke Twitter boycott ke bhi jankaari nahi hai. (I don't know what statement has Kapil given. I even don't have any knowledge about Kapil's boycott from Twitter.)"

In light of the Pulwama terror attack, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and AICWA (All Indian Cine Workers) have stepped in to ban Pakistani artistes in India. Salman Khan has also reportedly dropped Pakistani singer Atif Aslam from his upcoming production, 'Notebook'.

Speaking in support of the decision, Krushna added, "Achi baat hai. Ashok Pandit aur team ne yeh acha faisla kiya aur agar Salman (Khan) ne bhi apni film se Atif Aslam ke gaane ko hataaya hai toh main iss faisle ka samarthan karta hun. (It's good. Ashok Pandit and team have made the right decision. If Salman Khan has decided to drop Atif Aslam from his film then I fully support his stand.)"
