Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) are devastated after their daughter Kiara's death. They both blame each other for their child's loss and declare that they don't want to stay together anymore. When Aliya and Disha see them arguing over the custody of their twin daughters they suggest that both Abhi and Pragya keep one daughter each and go about their lives separately.
Heartbroken, Abhi and Pragya decide to part ways once again. With their daughters in their hands, they both apologize to the infants for separating them. Abhi tells Pragya to never return to Mehra Mansion. She vows to never even return to his city. Pragya still holds him responsible for Kaira's death and hates him for separating their twin girls. Abhi takes the elder twin while Pragya takes the younger one and storms out of the Mehra mansion.
On her way out, an acquaintance saves Pragya and her daughter from getting hit by a vehicle.
The story takes a 20-year leap. Dadi, Meetali and Indu get scared as a loud sound interrupts their puja. Riya - Abhi ki ladli- is awake. Riya has locked herself in her cupboard because she can't find any footwear to go with her outfit. Meera - Prachi's care taker - and Mitali try hard to calm her down but she throws a fit. Riya asks Meera to get her a pair of new sandals right away!
Miles away in Punjab, Pragya is looking for her daughter Prachi. Pragya is now a teacher in a college where Prachi studies. When Prachi's cousin Sana asks her to buy a new pair of shoes, she says there's no need.
A roadside Romeo offers to give Prachi a lift but she continues walking with Sana without reacting. When they reach home, Sana tries to tell Pragya about the guy but Prachi interrupts her and changes the topic.
Sana's casual comment about not having a younger sister makes Pragya think about Prachi's twin daughter. Neither Prachi nor Riya are aware of each other's existence.
Will they ever cross each other's paths? Will fate bring them together? Stay tuned to find out all the answers to your questions in the upcoming episodes.
